Well my first month of the new job has gone well, and adapting to the zend framework has gone quite well, coming from never using the framework or developing in this type of way I think its been coming along smoothly, I have been working on a couple of website and things have been going really well.
Im really enjoying working for this company, they are producing some great work especially in the flash department, and hopefully very soon im going to be able to start learning flash, which is something that im really looking forward to as its something ive always been interested in, and i believe it will be a very good asset to add to my web development skills.
Outside of work ive also been busy, the redesign of Runnerslife has gone down well by all, comments seem to be coming in from users and the athletes themselves on how they like the new look, we tried to make it a much more accessible home page allowing the readers full access to the latest information on the site. we also added a few new sections to the site that have gone down really well, and i can see good things for the future of Runnerslife especially as we now have the support of a know running apparel and trainer company behind us (Saucony) , they will help promote the website at running events that they will be heading to.
onto other things not work related, my milestone turned up this week and I must say im very well impressed with the phone itself, its the first time ive owned a Android phone and i love it, ive previously had a Iphone, and at first i though it was brilliant but after a few weeks I was bored with it, yes there are a lot of great apps out there for it, one of the biggest draw backs for me though was that you cant run apps in the background something that android allows you to do. the phone itself has a better camera, a removable battery which is something that the iphone doesnt have, the battery itself seems to last a lot longer than the I even with some of the apps running in the background, another plus for me is the integration with other google products, im a huge fan of google apps a lot of the sites ive built in the past ive setup google apps to handle the emails, and I myself have a few gmail accounts, so the easy of adding these accounts to my phone was a plus point. I know the Iphone can also accommodate gmail accounts but it just seems a lot more intuitive and sleek with the droid.
